The successful candidate will have responsibility for coordinating the day to day human resources and recruitment activities, assist with employee events such as open enrollment, and maintain accurate HR records, while working closely with the existing HR team.
Responsibilities Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Assists with recruitment to fill vacant positions.
Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Provides administrative assistance with disciplinaries and grievances.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Provides support for any HR daily duties in the absence of the Human Resources personnel.
Prepares and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Qualifications and Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and competencies:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) or equivalent in Human Resources or Business Management; or appropriate relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bi-lingual - able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
Proven problem solving skills - able to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and first-class interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethics and integrity; ability to uphold company ethics and values.
Supports affirmative action and respects diversity.
Willing to make timely decisions based on sound and accurate judgment; ability to support and explain the reasoning behind the decision.
Excellent planning/organizing skills - able to prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently.
